On November 23, 2011 the BlueCasco Experience Center was opened in Lelystad. In order to build a comfortable home that is flexible to grow with the individual housing requirements on acceptable housing, three market leaders in the construction sector developed an integral concept for energy efficient homes: BlueCasco, a completely sealed thermal envelope with minimal thermal bridges. EPC values of 0.4 to energy neutral.

Particulate matter in the poultry

As of June 1, 2011, the Netherlands must emit less particulate matter. Particulate matter comes from dried manure in stables. The Ministry of EL & I has recently published a brochure on this subject. This brochure describes various technical measures that farmers can take to reduce particulate emissions. Anke Nobel made infographics that explain the operation of the techniques clearly.

On April 8, 2011 a new information board was in use at the hydroelectric power station Linne. It provides information on the operation and output of the plant (each year more than 30 million kilowatt-hours green power. Enough for about 9,000 households). There is also much attention for an innovative guiding system which provides a safe route for fish downstream bypassing the turbines. Essent, Rijkswaterstaat, Ministry, and creator FishFlow Innovations are working together to further improve the system.

TOOLKIT Q-FEVER

These days, media, companies and the government are all keen on measures how to prevent the feared epidemic of Q-fever. The RIVM developed a toolkit with facts & information about everything concerning this Q-fever; the transmissionroute (how do you get contaminated), diagnosis and treatment of patients, measures for stock farmers, hints & tips for children's farms.
